Our story: The heart of Wild Side Walkies

Along with adopting a dog comes great responsibility, and we took that seriously from day one. We brought in a dog trainer almost immediately, The very highly recommended Rob from Eastern Suburbs Dog Training, who was incredible with Penny and helped set her up for success from the very beginning.

Through that experience, I was invited to join group walks, supporting pack walks and learning firsthand how calm, structured group walking really works.

Watching how much dogs genuinely thrive in small, consistent groups completely changed the way I saw dog walking.

By profession, I work with children with autism. My whole world revolves around positive reinforcement, repetition, routine, eye contact, calm guidance, and building trust. And one day it just clicked.

Working with dogs is not that different.

Dogs need structure.

They need consistency.

They need calm leadership.

They need routine, repetition, and positive reinforcement.

They need to feel safe, seen, and understood.

Penny showed me all of that.

Wild Side Walkies was born from that realisation.

This is not a big, chaotic, rush in rush out dog walking service.

This is small, carefully matched packs.

Same friends. Same routine. Same walker.

Calm, joyful, structured adventures where dogs actually get what they need emotionally as well as physically.

Eastern Suburbs Dog Training inspired me to create my own page and take this leap. Seeing the impact of well run pack walks made me realise this is what I wanted to build.

A small dog walking service that feels personal, thoughtful, and genuinely caring.

Wild Side Walkies exists because of Penny, and a genuine belief that dogs deserve more than just being walked.

They deserve calm leadership.

They deserve consistency.

They deserve to feel safe, seen, and part of a pack.

Recommend Dog Trainer

Rob, Eastern Suburbs Dog Trainer

Finding the right trainer matters. Someone calm, consistent, and deeply experienced can change not just a dog’s behaviour, but their quality of life.

Rob is a highly experienced, hands on dog trainer who works with dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. His approach is logical, fair, and straightforward, always grounded in consistency and repetition. He trains from a place of genuine passion and respect for dogs, not ego.

Rob has worked closely with my own dog Penny, and the progress she has made with him has been life changing. He often jokes that he is “just her Uber driver” and that she doesn’t love him, but the truth is she absolutely adores him. The trust, calmness, and confidence she has gained under his guidance speaks for itself.

What truly sets Rob apart is his follow through. He stays in touch, checks in, and genuinely cares about the dogs and owners he works with. His communication is clear, his expectations are fair, and his results are real.

Without hesitation, Rob is one of the best dog handlers and trainers I have ever worked alongside. I recommend him highly.
